How consulting fits with your subscription

Three shapes of work — choose the one that fits.

01

Most things stay tickets.

AISA handles unlimited tickets inside your 360SmartIT Department subscription. When a ticket needs hands-on engineer time, you authorize the escalation and it is billed in 5-minute increments — no project, no scope doc, no extra invoice line.

03

Some things are custom.

Acquisition diligence, M&A integration, regulatory remediation, unusual environments — quoted per engagement after a Discovery conversation. Same lifecycle, custom shape.

What makes goCloudOffice consulting different

Four operating principles.

01

We have built IT at every scale we serve.

goCloudOffice was founded in 2003 — before AWS launched, before the iPhone shipped, before "the cloud" was a category. We have lived through every IT inflection point that growing companies still reckon with: on-prem to cloud, perimeter to identity, server-room to managed-platform, SOC 2 from "what is that?" to table stakes, and now AI as the operating layer. We have been running AI in production since summer 2024 — about two years of real operational experience: AISA handles the helpdesk, AI augments incident response, AI builds documentation, custom MCP servers connect our engineers to customer environments. When we deliver an AI consulting project, we apply patterns we have already proven on ourselves.

02

Senior depth at every tier.

Pro1 engineers are full-stack technicians with several years of hands-on experience — career engineers, beyond call-center rotations. Pro2 engineers are typically the named technical lead on customer accounts, with deep platform knowledge across the systems modern businesses run on. Pro3 Master engineers are former CISOs, principal architects, and compliance leaders — each with 20+ years of career depth.

03

Quoted, scoped, signed off.

Every consulting project is quoted before any work begins — fixed-fee where scope is clear, time-and-materials where Discovery determines it. You sign off on scope, owner, milestones, and budget before the first hour is billed. No surprise invoices; no scope creep without an explicit change order.

04

Documentation as a deliverable.

Every project produces written artifacts that you own: runbooks, network diagrams, decision logs, change records, evidence packets. The work outlasts the engagement — your team can pick up where we leave off, your auditors can read what we did, your successor MSP could read it. We hope you stay; the documentation means you have the option either way.

How we engage

Five steps from first call to delivered.

The same lifecycle for every consulting project, regardless of size. Predictable shape; the depth at each step scales to the engagement.

  1. 1

    Discovery

    1 – 2 weeks

Listen first, scope second. We interview stakeholders, audit the affected systems, and deliver a written diagnosis: what is actually true today, what the constraints are, what is changeable. Discovery is its own deliverable — even if you choose to pause, you keep the diagnosis.

  2. 2

    Plan

    ~1 week

Written scope, milestones, named accountable lead, decision on fixed-fee vs. T&M, risk register, communication cadence. You sign off before any execution work begins.

  3. 3

    Execute

    project duration

Weekly status with concrete progress against milestones. Every update names what shipped and what is next, in plain language. Escalation paths are defined ahead of time so blockers stay visible to both sides.

  4. 4

    Measure

    at delivery

Post-delivery metrics: what objectively changed, what is measurably better, what risk we retired. The "did this work?" question gets a written answer with evidence behind it.

  5. 5

    Handoff

    at close

Full documentation transfer (runbooks, diagrams, decisions), named follow-up owner on our side, and an optional sustained engagement if you want us to keep operating what we built.

Engineering depth

Pro1, Pro2, Pro3 Master.

Three engineer tiers covering every skill set between them. Hourly rates are quoted privately and apply to consulting engagements scoped per project — fixed-fee where the scope is clear, time-and-materials where Discovery determines it.

Pro1

Standard IT — most issues that require a human, fast.

Pro1 covers the everyday tactical work: routine support that needs hands, asset lifecycle management, hardware + software procurement, end-user lifecycle, and standard SaaS support. Engineers at this tier are reliable, fast, and well-suited to the 80% of human-engineer requests that have a clear playbook.

Covers

  • Routine network / printer / peripheral troubleshooting
  • User onboarding + offboarding workflows
  • Standard SaaS application support
  • Procurement (hardware + software, vendor coordination, license tracking)
  • Asset management (inventory, lifecycle, deployment tracking, returns + retirement)
  • Compliance quarterly access-review support (gathering access lists, evidence collection, walking owners through approval workflows)

Example situations

  • Procuring + tracking 12 new MacBooks for the Q3 hiring class
  • Coordinating return + secure-wipe on departing employees' computers
  • Troubleshooting a printer that authentication is misbehaving for

Pro3 Master

Master-level — architecture, complex integrations, security, compliance, and executive advisory.

Pro3 Master covers everything that requires architectural depth, regulatory experience, or executive-level credibility. Engineers at this tier are former CISOs, principal architects, or compliance leaders. You are buying judgment, presence, and depth — not keystrokes.

Covers

  • Complex integrations (line-of-business apps, identity providers, SIEM)
  • Security architecture (Zero Trust, conditional access, identity hardening)
  • Compliance work (SOC 2, HIPAA, ISO 27001 evidence)
  • Network architecture (Cloudflare Zero Trust, SD-WAN, segmentation)
  • Executive technical advisory (board-level, fundraise-relevant)
  • Regulatory + compliance leadership (SEC, FINRA, HIPAA, FDA)
  • Cyber-insurance underwriting representation
  • Acquisition + diligence support (technology side)
  • Board-level incident response
  • Architecture decisions with > $1M downstream cost implication

Example situations

  • Designing a Zero Trust access model for a 50-person professional-services firm
  • Leading the technical-evidence side of a SOC 2 audit
  • Sitting opposite a cyber-insurance underwriter to defend the renewal posture

Common project types

When you need a project rather than a ticket.

Some work is bigger than what AISA resolves or what a Pro1 / Pro2 ticket covers. We deliver fixed-scope projects with a written plan, defined milestones, and a single accountable lead.

Custom projects

Have something else in mind?

We scope and deliver custom IT projects across identity, security, network, automation, and integration — anywhere a Pro2 or Pro3 Master engineer adds the depth your team needs. Common patterns we have delivered include SOC 2 readiness, Entra ID hardening, Cloudflare Zero Trust rollouts, M365 / Google Workspace tenant remediation, and acquisition-side IT diligence support.

Billing model

No surprise invoices. Ever.

Two engagement shapes for consulting projects — same transparency standard for both: written scope before any work begins, named accountable lead, weekly visibility, every charge authorized in advance.

Fixed-fee project

Quoted per engagement

For work where the scope is well-defined after Discovery: written quote, written scope, written milestones. We absorb the variance — if execution takes longer than estimated, we eat it.

Time & materials

Engineer-hour rate × Discovery-estimated band

For work where scope intentionally evolves through execution (research, R&D-style engagements, exploratory architecture). Discovery produces an estimated hour band; we hold ourselves to it and notify you the moment we project an overrun.

Looking for ad-hoc tech support rather than a project? That is part of the 360SmartIT Department subscription. Tech-support escalations from AISA to a Pro1 / Pro2 / Pro3 Master engineer are billed in 5-minute increments (rounded up), with 1-minute increments available for customers with larger volumes and annual commitments — separate from the consulting-project billing above.
